The Philadelphia Phillies have been around since 1883. As always, there are many good and bad things about baseball teams.  With the Philadelphia Bowl, it's probably worse than losing more than any other franchise in professional sports.  But in light of the team’s 10,000-win mark on Tuesday, December we’re taking a look at a few of the Phillies’ most notable victories in the past to remind us of where and what this team has become.

1st win: May 14, 1883 @ Chicago White Stockings. Final score: 12-1. Season record: 1-8 (.111). Lifetime record:

On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, the Phillies hit 10,000 wins.  Despite being the sixth oldest team in Major League Baseball, the Phillies will be the ninth team to reach that number.

Founded the same year as the Phillies in 1883, the San Francisco Giants topped all franchises with 11,359 wins.  Meanwhile, Philadelphia has fallen so far from the group that they need to win 100 games over nearly 30 years to reach 0.500 as a brand.

That was not the only reason.  In the organization's early days, in the late 19th century, the Feliz, or Quakers, as they were sometimes called, were a model of success

1000th win: July 27, 1898 vs Washington Senators. Final score: 5-1. Season record: 39-42 (.470). Lifetime record: 1000-966-35 (.500).

The 1,000th win for the Phillies franchise would come in 1898, following a double-header sweep of the Washington Senators, who lost 101 games that season.  The match was a continuation of the tournament that had been delayed due to rain in the previous days.

The Phillies were close to the winning ballclub during their young career, winning 10 of their 11 seasons from 1885 to 1895.  They would finish the year with a record over .500, going 78-71-1.  Most appreciated that season was Ed Delahunte, as he was in the midst of a Hall of Fame career that tragically ended five years later in a fall in Niagara Falls when he was kicked out by a train conductor for being drunk and disorganized  wash.

One day, Citizens Bank Park will look like the Baker Bowl in 2022. It will be a reminder of a bygone era where people think about how stupid we were to think 10 wins  000 is a big deal.

If all our modern stadiums are ruins or museums for people to admire in the future, does baseball still matter?

It is important today.  Not every resident of Philadelphia has a real and personal life, but the Phillies are home to millions.

They are here to make money in a society that values welfare, as any society does.  If you follow Phyllis to see their success, you have chosen the wrong entertainment.

But if you take the Phillies as baseball’s 162-day history and dip your toe in the flowing river of baseball past, present and future, it could be their first win with the 100,000th.
